Our Story
We first met in 2018 while Alesha was working at BNA. We saw each other all the time but barely spoke, although Alesha somehow always found a reason to clear plates from the tables Sean was sitting at. Sean was in nursing school and usually arrived with a group of beautiful women, which was, naturally, very intimidating.
One night at the Fireside Festival, Alesha finally worked up the courage to write down her name and number for Sean. Before she could give it to him, a friend secretly took the paper and handed it over without telling her. Sean came over to say hello, and Alesha spent the entire conversation sweating and freaking out. Romantic, right?
We soon realized we lived across the street from each other and quickly discovered how easy it was to be around one another. Sean was kind, handsome, and genuinely one of the sweetest people Alesha had ever met. We dated for about a month before Alesha panicked and called it off, but thankfully, we stayed friends.
A few years, a pandemic, and a couple of other relationships later, we found ourselves single again at exactly the right time. With some encouragement from Alesha’s therapist and longtime friend, she reached out. On her first day back at work, she ended up serving Sean and asked him to meet up for a bite to eat. Oysters turned into ice cream, ice cream turned into a cocktail at Jack’s, and that’s where Alesha told Sean she needed him back in her life. She admitted she had walked away the first time because she was scared of how sweet he was. Cliché? Maybe. Completely true? Absolutely.
We slowly started spending time together again, and then pretty much never stopped. Now, 5.5 years later, we have a life filled with more love, laughter, and happiness than we ever imagined. We’re so excited for everything ahead and feel incredibly lucky that we get to marry our best friend.
